Khushboo, Suhasini Maniratnam, Vijay Yesudas and Aishwarya Rajesh were among the 20 showstoppers, who sashayed down the ramp in silks and chiffons, to support the designer’s ‘Save the Girl Child’ campaign.

The New York-based designer plans to highlight issues such as female infanticide at the grand finale. Showcasing a fusion of East and West, Jon says she has tried to “retain the richness of our tradition and culture.” While her western segment will feature breezy gowns in French chiffon and Italian georgette—highlighted with Swarovski and pearls—her Indian line will showcase lehengas with zardozi and saris in shades of gold, specially made for Chennai.
